The Golden Circle: Why To How To What
Are you tired of being misunderstood? Find yourself speaking to others about your ideas and not feeling heard? Maybe your message needs a little tweaking.
No. I don’t mean to change the meaning of what it is you’re saying, but presented in the right package, you could have a dangerously viral concept that is just waiting to be unleashed.
Simon Sinek, author of Start With Why and leadership expert, has developed an interesting model called “The Golden Circle” that revolutionizes the way we share ideas. As shown in the video below, Sinek tears apart the What to How tendency and presents a Why to How to What model that is used by all majorly successful companies. Without much surprise Apple Computer is one of these examples.
No matter your field, this is valuable information to hear. All of us are salesman since we sell ourselves in different ways every day even if we are not promoting a product for XYZ company.
So take a look and give it a try. Sell the why.
